Race for a Reason

Race for a Reason

Race for a Reason is ConnectAbility’s newest program.  Race for a Reason seeks to increase physical and social health for athletes of all abilities through training and racing together. ConnectAbility provides adaptive equipment (running wheelchairs) for training and competition. The teams  have the opportunity to participate in 4 races each year as a group . Teams enjoy training together before each race.

In addition to the four group races, Race for a Reason teams may choose to participate in other local races on their own. Our team “Hot Wheels” has made a goal of one race together each month!

Update- Team HOPE and Team ConnectAbility 07/04/2017

We had a great group of runners come out to run with ConnectAbility’s Race for a Reason Program at Dahlonega’s Annual Firecracker 5k on the Fourth of July! We took up the entire width of the starting line and had a blast!

How YOU can get involved

Athletes of ALL abilities are invited and encouraged to participate in the Race for a Reason program. Email contact@garunner.org or check out our contact page for more information on how to build or join with a team.

Not a runner? That’s ok! Support our athletes and help fund equipment or come cheer athletes on at their races.
